 About Giving To Gaines Church

We’ll be the first to admit it. There has been a lot of monkey business with money and churches. The leadership of Gaines Church exercise full accountability, ethical business practices and wise stewardship with the resources we receive. Our financial integrity is above reproach. The money received does not pad the pockets of anyone but goes to further our mission in Grand Rapids of creating places for our friends to experience Jesus.

Where does Gaines Church get its Money?
Our support comes from people who tithe (giving back to God 10% of earnings) and from the free-willed offerings of attendees and supporters. It is normal for anyone that calls Gaines Church “home” to support the church financially. We do not have a few individuals funding everything.

Does Gaines Church Have High Accounting Standards?
Yes. We have a team that includes a Certified Public Accountant, a Pastoral staff member, Elders, and faithful volunteers to oversee all financial systems. Our yearly review booklet contains pertinent budget information for you to peruse. If you do not have one, contact our church office. What Happens to Left Over Money?
If there is money left over it is used to cover adjacent year deficits, investments into new ministries, existing ministries, building repairs, FutureTense, and the community around us.

A Note about Credit Cards
Although many pay off their credit cards each month, many also do not. We do not encourage you to go into debt and pay interest on gifts given to the church. While we allow the use of credit cards for tithes/offerings, we encourage the use of the Debit Card or ACH Bank Transfer option. BillPay payments from your bank to Gaines Church also work great!
